Acer’s Iconia W3 – Windows were Never So Small!
/* */Windows were never so small to accommodate in an 8-inch screen! Here is Iconia W3 by Acer, an 8-inch tablet in which Windows 8 resolution has been constricted to the smallest till date, 1240 x 600! The first ever 8-inch tablet runs Windows 8 Pro on x86 architecture of Intel. The tablet is up for pre-order for $380 for the 32GB model and $430 for 64GB model.
Iconia W3 uses the dual-core Intel Atom Z2760 Clover Trail processor. Because it uses Windows 8 OS, you can not only run full-screen modern apps from Windows Store, but also you can run any desktop Windows app, so to say. It includes hyperthreading and built-in Intel HD graphics. The RAM is limited to 2 GB and so you will get no 64-bit version tablet. But you should remember that Iconia W3 can do many things which an iPad or a Google Nexus 7 can’t do. Only you can’t expect it to do it very well on an 8-inch screen. However, you can run the popular Windows apps like the full versions of Photoshop, iTunes or Office, which an iOS tablet or Android cannot. What’s more, the tablet is pre-loaded with Office 2013 Home & Student.
Additional features of Iconia W3 are Wi-Fi, 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, micro USB port, micro HDMI port, micro SD card slot, 2MP front-facing camera and 2MP rear camera, and 8 hours of battery life. Because of the Intel HD Graphics, the tablet can offer full-HD with its micro-HDMI port. 32 and 64 GB internal storage options are offered; however expandable storage has not been disclosed yet.
