Return of HP to Smartphone Market

CEO said that they have to offer a smartphone ultimately because that is the first computing device in different parts of the world these days. There are some countries in the world where people never own a PC , tablet or a desktop, they do everything on a smartphone, HP is a computing company so they have to take that opportunity and work it out for their benefit.

Whitman didn’t provide any other details on the device, time frame as to when it will come out was also not disclosed. But she expressed the importance of bringing this device right this time.

She also said, she would like to be able to offer all the way from the most amazing desktops to workstations, to laptops, to convertibles and tablets, and now to the smartphone. This time HP took an alternative route into the world of smartphones, and they are sure of getting it right this time. So they are working to make sure that, when they do this, it will be the best thing for HP and they would be successful.

Initially, HP sold mobile devices running Windows Mobile OS from Microsoft. But, it went on to get capture Palm and its operating system webOS. It would definitely make sense at that time, for this latest smartphone, and probably other devices, to operate on webOS unless the company backs it out for a more prevailing option like Windows Phone 8 and Android.
